Benedict Cumberbatch and Claire Foy are surely a dream screen duo, and going on the just-released trailer, their new movie The Electrical Life of Louis Wain looks like a quirky and rather poignant delight.

Cumberbatch stars in the upcoming biopic as Louis Wain, an English artist who became known for his distinctive drawings of large-eyed kittens and cats. Foy stars as Emily Richardson, the governess of Wain's sisters, who later became his wife.

The colorful trailer also includes glimpses of supporting characters played by Toby Jones, Andrea Riseborough, Asim Chaudhry, Taika Waititi, and Nick Cave, who portrays writer H.G. Wells, a notable fan of Wain's.

Though the overall tone is warm and whimsical, the trailer also contains hints of the mental health difficulties that Wain faced, especially during his later life. According to the YouTube blurb, the movie traces the artist's life from the "late 1800s through to the 1930s."

Directed and co-written by Will Sharpe, the creator of cult Olivia Colman comedy series Flowers, The Electrical Life of Louis Wain opens in U.S. theaters October 22 before arriving on Amazon Prime November 5. Bring it on!
